Figure 1.0 — Studio Overview

Custom software,
drawn to spec.

Symoxy is a small software practice specializing in media asset workflows, automation, and custom tooling. We treat every engagement like a blueprint — measured, annotated, and engineered to fit.

Three stages, zero guesswork.

01 / DISCOVER

Talk

A free 30-minute call. You describe the problem. We ask the questions that actually matter. No pitch, no slides.

≈ 30 MIN
02 / SCOPE

Plan

A written scope: what we'll build, what it costs, how long it takes. Fixed price when it makes sense, honest ranges when it doesn't.

3–5 DAYS
03 / SHIP

Build

Working code in weekly increments. Real demos, not progress reports. You always own everything: code, docs, infrastructure.

2–8 WEEKS
Figure 3.0 · Capabilities

What we actually build.

A · CUSTOM DEV

Custom Development

Full-stack apps and internal tools built around how your business actually runs — not a product manager's guess at it.

  • React · Next.js · Node
  • Postgres · Supabase
  • Docker · CI/CD
B · AUTOMATION

MAM & Workflow Automation

Iconik integrations, metadata migrations, ingest pipelines, and scheduled jobs that retire the copy-paste work.

  • Iconik API · n8n
  • Webhook handlers
  • FFmpeg pipelines
C · ADVISORY

Technical Advisory

Architecture reviews, vendor evaluations, and honest second opinions on whether you should even build the thing.

  • Build vs. buy calls
  • Vendor shortlists
  • Code audits
Figure 4.0 · How We Think

Operating principles.

PRINCIPLE · 01

Build vs. buy, honestly.

If an off-the-shelf tool fits, we'll say so — and help you pick it. Custom software is a commitment, not a default.

PRINCIPLE · 02

Small scopes, shipped often.

Two-week increments beat two-month milestones. We'd rather ship something small that works than plan something big that doesn't.

PRINCIPLE · 03

No lock-in, ever.

You own the code, the credentials, the docs, and the right to hire anyone else to maintain it. We build for handoff from day one.

PRINCIPLE · 04

Boring tech, on purpose.

We reach for tools that will still be maintained in five years. The exciting stack is usually the expensive stack.

Figure 5.0 · Who You'll Be Working With

One person. No handoffs.

Carlos Mendoza, founder and principal engineer at Symoxy
// PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Hi, I'm Carlos.

I started Symoxy because most small businesses don't need an agency — they need one engineer who actually understands the problem, ships working code, and leaves things better than they found them. I write every line myself. You always talk to the person building it.

— Carlos Mendoza · Founder / Sole Engineer
Figure 6.0 · Anatomy of an Engagement

What you actually get.

// EXPLODED VIEW · DELIVERABLE ASSEMBLYSCALE 1:1 · ALL PARTS INCLUDED
1
Source Code

Every line, in a git repo you own. Clean history, readable commits, no obfuscation.

2
Documentation

A real README. API docs where they matter. Runbooks for anything that isn't obvious.

3
Live Deployment

Running, not just running-on-my-laptop. CI/CD pipeline set up so deploys are a push, not a project.

4
Training Walkthrough

A recorded session walking your team through the code and operations. No “call me if anything breaks.”

5
The Keys

All credentials, IP, repo access, and hosting accounts — transferred to you. Zero lock-in by design.

Bring the problem.
We'll draw the plan.

The first conversation is always free, always honest, and never a sales pitch.
